The XII National Festival of Bulgarian Folk Art in Koprivshtitsa is postponed - 07.04.2021

The National Council for Intangible Cultural Heritage held an absentee meeting in the period 12-22 March 2021, at which it decided to support the postponement of the XII National Festival of Folk Art in Koprivshtitsa in 2021 and its holding at the first appropriate opportunity.   The proposal to postpone the National Festival of Folk Art was made by the Municipality of Koprivshtitsa and is related to the security of the people during the crisis caused by COVID-19.   The year of the event and the duration are to be discussed at subsequent meetings, according to the epidemic situation.   In 2020, the Council adopted a Statute for the holding of the Assembly and discussed the Regulation for its holding. The National System "Living Human Treasures - Bulgaria" - cycle 2021 - 11.03.2021

The Ministry of Culture has launched the procedure for filling in the National System "Living Human Treasures - Bulgaria" for 2021, which goes through two stages - regional and national. The maintenance of the system aims to preserve important for Bulgaria and its culture knowledge, activities and skills of communities, groups and individuals, their transmission to future generations through non-formal and formal education, as well as to ensure their visibility through public recognition at national and international level. . The right to nominations have the community centers, municipal, regional and state museums and non-profit legal entities with a subject of activity in the field of intangible cultural heritage. The district stage will take place in the period April - June 2021 and is organized by the district administrations. Expert commissions will be set up to select the applications, which include experts from the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore with the Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, representatives of regional museums, local historians and / or other specialists working in the field of intangible cultural heritage. By June 30, 2021, the Ministry of Culture receives the protocols from the work of the regional commissions and the complete files of the selected candidates for national level. The elements selected at the district level will be presented in parallel on the official website of the Ministry of Culture and on the websites of the respective district administrations.
